Despite the drama Keisha Knight-Pulliam is currently going through, she has put on a very brave face. According to ET “Pulliam’s husband, former NFL pro Ed Hartwell, filed for divorce from her on Tuesday, just days after the 37 year-old actress announced she was pregnant, and nearly seven months after the two were married. In an exclusive sitdown with ET on Wednesday Pulliam, who wasn’t wearing her wedding ring, broke down in tears when discussing her issues with Hartwell.” Can we all say we saw this coming or nah? It’s only been 7 months since the two tied the knot; what about for better or for worse? This is exactly why i believe in taking your time before jumping into new relationships. “I don’t know if it’s the hormones… no, it’s all of it, because it’s fresh,” Pulliam tells ET’s Nischelle Turner, fighting back tears. “And it’s hurtful. And I knew I couldn’t be silent, because this isn’t about money. This isn’t about fame. This isn’t about social media likes or follows. This is about my character, my integrity as a woman being attacked and that’s not OK.”

Here are my 5 reasons why it’s important not to jump into marriage:

1. You think that you’re running out of time, and actually you could be wasting time.
2. You think marriage will change your partner. Marriage or a baby won’t change a person they have to want it for themselves.
3. Take time to get to know you.
4. Although your time clock may be clicking trust in your destiny.
5. DON’T SETTLE Trust in your journey and don’t rush your destiny
