What’s going on with Hollywood celebrity marriages? Seems like there is a curse in Hollywood. Israel Houghton and Meleasa Houghton divorced in February 2016, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert and more recently, Keisha Knight Pulliam and ED Hartwell headed to divorce court. And now, the “I Can Love You” singer, Mary J Blige is calling it quits on her 12-year marriage with her own personal Mr. Wrong, Martin Kendu Isaacs. I don’t think my heart can handle anymore divorces. It seems like marriages are not valued like they were back in the day.

According to TMZ, Mary J Blige is filing for divorce from her manager/husband due to irreconcilable differences. They never had children together, but he has children from a previous relationship. We do not know if there was a prenuptial agreement before the marriage. She has requested not to pay him spousal support. According to inside sources, Kendu was no’t allowed to have female friends. Blige felt a married man and a single female could not co-exist as just friends. Mary stated, “NO. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.”

Two years ago, during an interview Blige spoke on the challenges of being with your manager. “He always has my back—he’s going to fight to death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there’s no separation—it’s on all the time.” Blige’s music career will stay on track as planned. According to one of her team rep, “Mary will continue writing and working on her album which is due out later this year along with her world tour.” After the divorce was announced, Mary wiped her Instagram page clean. It’s always good thing to start fresh.

Everyone knows when Mary J Blige goes through a break up her songs are on fire. So this might be the year she breaks her own personal record sells. We all know everything happens for a reason. I hope both parties find a way to heal and find love again in the future but if we know Mary like we think we know her, we already know she’s “Not Gone Cry”
