Preparing for finals

By  |

If you’re college student you know it’s that time of the year we all despise. Exams are coming up and the question is are you ready for finals?? If you are that’s great, if not well hopefully this article will help you out. I remember not being prepared for my finals but managing to get prepared by three simple steps. Now if you pay attention to these steps I can assure that you will be prepared for finals.

Step 1: Talk to your professor

Hopefully ,you’ve talked to your professor during the semester but if you haven’t it’s time you go. Be honest with yourself and your professor and let them know that you want to try to get prepared for finals so what can you do. It’s always good to have those open lines of communication with them. You want to show your professor that you care about your grade.  Professor’s love to see that their students care about their class and grades.

Step 2: Go to study groups

This is the easiest step and I wouldn’t tell you to do it if I haven’t done it before. Getting in a study group can sometimes help you understand the material better and find different ways to remember it. Now if you an introvert like me, this might be kind of hard for you. But have no fear, all you have to do is send an email to your class about having a starting a study group. I know it sounds easier than it looks but trust me. There is probably someone out there who is feeling the same way and is waiting for someone to reach out to them.

Last but not least .

Step 3:  Do not pull any all nighters

I know that sounds crazy but its true all-nighters are not healthy for you and do more bad than good. Staying up all night to cram everything only makes you and your brain sleepy. By the time you’re done pulling an all-nighter your brain will be too tired to remember anything you study during the night. The worst thing you could do is fall asleep during a test so please no all-nighters.

The best way to prepare for finals is to not wait until the last minute to do anything. I know sometimes in college that is hard not to do. But trust me, it’s possible not to wait until the last semester to do everything and that way you won’t feel overwhelmed.
