Ladies & Lemonade; The Girlboss Movement Discussing Entrepreneurship Over Gossip!

By  |

Chynna Miley is the young, educated, and the ambitious event curator behind the event titled “Ladies & Lemonade”. Although, the title is clever and catchy this event was missing something that is quite common in the ATL event and social circle which is “egos”. There was no fake celebrity trend to entice attendees and no division amongst attendees. This was a very organic event where real women gathered to discuss their businesses wins & losses on a Saturday afternoon over lemonade, instead of gossip over drinks with the girls on the weekend.  I was very impressed to see such a eager group of women ready to learn all about business and networking on a Saturday afternoon.

The girlboss mixer consisted of ice breakers, games, and networking activities such as “girlboss bingo”. Each attendee was given a board with different descriptions inside each box that would fit to at least 1 person in the room. You had to network to find out which description would match which attendee. This was a fun way to network and get familiar with each person in the room.

The keynote speakers were Terrace Sherman the CEO of Couture Inc., Deidre Palode the owner of Maylee Media, and Natural Hair Expert Jewel of Embrace Me Naturally Studios. They collectively shared their personal business journeys, and gave attendees advice on navigating as a new business owner. If you’re looking for a generic business sisterhood or looking to meet like minded individuals focused on business and entrepreneurship follow the #LadiesAndLemonade platform and stay updated for upcoming event dates. Chynna is also the creator of “Connecting Curlfriends” another networking community for natural hair lovers and enthusiasts.
